Dr. Amy Bennie is a licensed psychologist who provides individual, couples, and family therapy to adults and families navigating life transitions, relationship concerns, stress and burnout, and health-related challenges. She takes a collaborative, compassionate approach to therapy and psychological assessment, supporting clients in building insight, strengthening relationships, and creating meaningful, values-driven change.

With over a decade of experience across outpatient mental health, medical, and academic health settings, Dr. Bennie draws on a breadth of experience to help her patients. She has served as director of psychotherapy training for a psychiatry residency, worked as a physician wellness coach, and held faculty positions at multiple medical programs. Her clinical interests encompass health psychology, psychotherapy for professionals and caregivers, couples and family therapy, and integrative behavioral health.

Dr. Bennie offers specialized expertise in supporting individuals through medical and surgical procedures—including bariatric surgery and spinal cord stimulator implantation—and conducts comprehensive presurgical psychological evaluations. She also works with older adults and families facing age-related concerns, including cognitive changes and caregiving stress. Through cognitive assessment and screening, she helps individuals and families navigate decision-making, enhance coping strategies, and improve quality of life across the lifespan.

Her therapeutic approach is grounded in evidence-based methods, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and integrative cognitive-behavioral strategies. Dr. Bennie earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Family Systems Psychology from Azusa Pacific University and completed her predoctoral psychology internship at Loma Linda Medical Center in California. She is currently licensed in both Texas and Ohio.
